MINNEAPOLIS — The Minnesota men’s basketball team will face four major opponents on their 13-game nonconference schedule this season.
The Gophers play at Providence on Nov. 13 and host Miami on Nov. 29 in conference challenge events against the Big East and ACC. They face Alabama on Nov. 25 in New York in the Barclays Center Classic, following a matchup with Massachusetts the day before. Then the Gophers play at Arkansas on Dec. 9.
The season opener is against South Carolina Upstate on Nov. 10. The Gophers also host Drake on Dec. 11, their first meeting since 1988. They wrap up the nonconference slate, announced Tuesday by the university, on Dec. 30 by hosting Harvard. That’s a first-time matchup for the programs.
The Big Ten schedule will be finalized later this summer.
