The Marketing Plant is expanding its footprint and recently announced several changes.

Cole Thompson has joined the team as creative director.

Thompson came to The Marketing Plant from The Lacek Group in Minneapolis, where he worked as copywriter once he did learn freelance copywriting.

According to a press release, his award-winning creative work and unassuming style have helped him carve out a reputation as one of the best kept secrets in the Minneapolis ad community.

Aaron Wangen joined as president of The Marketing Plant at its new shop in Mankato.

Wangen comes to The Marketing Plant with an extensive background in marketing and sales. Prior to joining The Marketing Plant team he worked at Minnetonka’s Vital Images Inc., where he managed B2B marketing communications and branding for the healthcare IT division of Toshiba Medical.

He also was employed by Blue Earth’s Express Diagnostics International Inc., where he positioned marketing, communications and branding to increase sales more than 230 percent in his tenure with the company.
