Woman cited after leaving dog in hot car

Albert Lea police cited Amber Jan Nesmoe, 34, for misdemeanor mistreatment of an animal after an animal control complaint was made at 1:20 p.m. Saturday at 1550 Blake Ave. A dog was allegedly in a car that was parked for at least an hour. The engine was reportedly not turned on, but a window was cracked.

Freeborn County Sheriff’s Office deputies arrested Thomas Robert Rosenthal, 50, for a domestic abuse no-contact order violation after disorderly conduct was reported at 10:05 p.m. Friday at 78649 190th St.

Albert Lea police cited Jose Adan Mendoza III, 20, for underage drinking after disorderly conduct was reported at 1:59 p.m. Friday at 2328 Gene Ave.

A tobacco violation was reported at 2:21 p.m. Friday at 2000 Tiger Lane.

A headlight was reported smashed at 9:40 a.m. Friday at 2019 E. Main St.

Valve stems were reported cut at 4:12 p.m. Friday at 504 James Ave.

A report of a credit card being fraudulently used for $87.01 was made at 5:10 p.m. Friday at Walmart, 1550 Blake Ave.

Credit card fraud was reported at 5:12 p.m. Friday at 411 S. Broadway Ave.

Credit card fraud was reported at 5:14 p.m. Friday at Dollar General, 201 W. Main St.

A sex crime with a child victim was reported at 10:45 a.m. Friday.

3 arrested
on warrants

Police arrested Kenneth Andrew Iverson, 29, on a Mille Lacs County warrant for misdemeanor contempt of court at 9:01 a.m. Friday at 724 Larrimore Circle.

Police arrested Eric Paul Mathison, 42, on a warrant for misdemeanor domestic assault at 5:08 p.m. Friday at 1430 Frank Ave. Mathison had a warrant from another agency.

Police arrested Ryan Dean Johnson, 38, on a local warrant during a traffic stop at 12:26 a.m. Sunday at the intersection of Stevens Street and Motel 6. At the scene, police cited Emma Kathleen Sullivan, 18, for driving after suspension.

A male was reported taken to hospital via ambulance after a dog bite at 11:29 a.m. Saturday at 1321 Academy Ave. The male was bit by a family dog on the face, left hand and right arm.
