The Good Samaritan Society of Albert Lea joined Good Samaritan Society locations across the nation in celebrating the founding of The Evangelical Lutheran Good Samaritan Society.
The Good Samaritan Society was incorporated on Sept. 29, 1922, and opened its first home on March 1, 1923, in Arthur, North Dakota. Over the years, the Society has grown from serving a handful of residents to being the nation’s largest not-for-profit provider of care and services for seniors.
“On Founder’s Day we honor our organization’s rich history, but we also honor and celebrate with our staff members and the people we serve,” said Katie Davis, administrator at Good Samaritan Society of Albert Lea. “I am thankful for the friendship, generosity and support we continue to receive from Albert Lea and surrounding communities.”
