It’s 2017, and the country is more divided than ever before.  Racism is way up. Large businesses prefer to hire part time rather than full time to get away from the benefits that gives them more profits.

Laws are put in place due to issues that have come up. Recently some laws are slowly being removed: Protection for our waters that will be perfect for coal drainage; protection of a few of our national parks that will be turned into mining country; and removing protection for rape victims at colleges etc., where the good old boys club will once again rule.   

Many elected officials don’t want health care for all that will enable us to live a healthier life. Almost half of the prison population has mental health issues. What does that say to you when their time is up? 

Single-payer would be great for business — would be great for everyone for that matter except those wanting to make gobs of money. Single-payer would help give everyone the tools they need for a healthier life.

People say they attend church, pray and sing the songs of praise on their day of worship. Good grief, the Legislature even has a prayer before their session. Then the gavel pounds, and those wonderful thoughts are then lost with the echo of the gavel. 

There are many verses that point to what God wants us to do. I’m just going to pick one: Proverbs 31: 8-9: “Speak up for those who cannot speak for themselves, for the rights of all who are destitute. Speak up and judge fairly; defend the rights of the poor and needy.” Why is that we say we believe in God, but yet don’t want to follow what God has to say?

We have a planet to protect and children of God to help.  Why can’t we embrace it?
