The Albert Lea Audubon Society is featuring a presentation by the Rev. Vern Harris at 7 p.m. Tuesday in Southwest Middle School’s Little Theatre. His topic is “The Remarkable Loon — Minnesota’s State Bird” and is free to the general public. Pastor Harris will project fabulous, much larger-than-life pictures with recordings of their various vocalizations from over many years of his passionate tracking and observations of loons. He will open his presentation to questions and discussion at the close of the session, when a drawing will also be held to give six jars of honey yielded from the Albert Lea Audubon Preserve bee colonies from this summer to six lucky attendees of this event.
