Registration now open for ALEAP U

ALEAP, in partnership with Riverland Community College, is offering a three-night course for small business owners and entrepreneurs. The course will focus on topics such as entity formation, bookkeeping basics, common business tax deductions, sales and use tax, retirement saving, and hiring employees vs. independent contractors, according to a press release.

The course dates are Nov. 7, 14 and 21 from 6 to 8 p.m. at Riverland’s Albert Lea campus. Registration for the course is open to all, with preference given to the residents of Freeborn County. Interested individuals must complete a registration form and submit the course fee of $20. The course instructor, John Eickhoff, CPA, MBA, has worked at regional public accounting firms in the areas of small business accounting, consulting, payroll and taxation as well individual taxation since 2013 and is employed at Johnson, Doerhoefer & Miner PA based out of their Owatonna office.  Prior to entering public accounting, he was in the insurance industry for over 10 years working with small businesses.
