Scholarships available for area students

Mayo Clinic Health System in Albert Lea and Austin will award two $1,000 scholarships to non-traditional students in the Albert Lea service area and two $1000 scholarships to non-traditional students in the Austin service area who are interested in pursuing an education in healthcare.

“Non-traditional” students are defined as individuals who pursue post-secondary education five or more years after completing high school or receiving a general education degree.

To be eligible, students must live within Albert Lea and Austin service areas and pursue education in healthcare.

Scholarships are awarded on the basis of leadership, commitment, character and academic ability. Scholarship information and applications are available at www.mayoclinichealthsystem.org under locations, choose Albert Lea or Austin, and click online services and then scholarships.

Applications should be returned to Kari Hall, volunteer coordinator at Mayo Clinic Health System, 1000 First Drive NW, Austin, MN 55912 by Nov. 21.

Applications will be reviewed by the scholarship committee. Those receiving scholarships will be notified by Dec. 12.
