An Albert Lea man who allegedly took inappropriate photos of a teenage girl he knew was charged with a felony last month in Freeborn County District Court.

Brian Floyd Frandle, 42, is charged with interfering with a privacy of a minor. His first appearance is scheduled for Nov. 9.

Court documents state Frandle was charged after a teenage girl on March 17 told law enforcement she was naked and getting ready for a shower the previous day in the bathroom of her mother’s residence when she noticed a cellphone she said belonged to Frandle on a selfie stick in an open laundry chute door.

A Bureau of Criminal Apprehension agent searched the home the night of March 17 and reportedly conducted a search of the phone, and court documents state there were nearly 300 photographs of images described as random of the ground within three hours that day.

The investigation reportedly recovered several searched words, including “photo deleter,” “video editor,” “applock,” photo editor,” “Candy Crush,” Picasso tool” and “photo edit.”

The search also recovered 69 installed applications, with 44 of those installed March 17, court documents state, including applications for photographic deletion and editing, video deletion and editing and phone cleanup.

In an interview with a Department of Human Services worker, Frandle reportedly told her he was watching television at the time of the incident, heard the “ruckus” going on and stayed out of it.
