Tim Walz is my choice for governor. With the election for Minnesota governor only a year away (Nov. 6, 2018) and so much at stake, I believe it is important to take a few minutes to highlight some of the reasons you may want to make Tim Walz your choice for governor as well.

As the parent of six children (all publicly educated), a teacher of over 20 years, a former two-term legislator and the wife of a superintendent, I believe that children, regardless of zip code, deserve the opportunities open to them with access to strong public education.

I have known Tim Walz for 20 years, and I believe that Tim Walz has proven his support for public education. Working with high-school students (including my son), Tim Walz taught students to more completely understand the world they live in. Tim Walz understands that is what great teachers do.

Tim Walz understands that supporting great teachers is how we increase our children’s prospects for the future. This requires strong education policy that supports adequate funding for public education, the promotion of collective bargaining rights and the defense of teacher pensions.

Tim Walz has shown his support of public education for the 20 years that I have known him and most recently he has proven his support of public education as your U.S. Congressman. Let him continue his great work for education as your governor. Support Tim Walz.
