Grandma’s Gourmets in running for award

Grandma’s Gourmets has announced the company is in the running for the 2018 Good Food Awards. There are 15 different food categories within the national, contest. Grandma’s Gourmets was announced a finalist in the pickle category with its popular Bloody Pickle. Over 2,000 entries were received from all 50 states and the District of Columbia.

According to a press release, each finalist rose to the top in a blind tasting of 2,057 entries and also passed a rigorous vetting to confirm they meet Good Food Awards standards regarding supply chain transparency, environmentally sound agricultural practices, humane animal husbandry and deep community engagement.

Grandma’s Gourmets has produced Bloody Pickles since 2014. The company describes Bloody Pickles  as everything one loves about a Bloody Mary, except the vodka, but as a pickle. In addition to be being one of the company’s top sellers, Grandma’s Gourmets Bloody Pickle has been a finalist in the Good Food Awards pickle category for two years running — making this the third year.

“Let’s hope the third time is a charm!” said company owner Kim Olson, adding that the other finalists are sauerkraut varieties and a kombocha — a fermented tea beverage.

“I’m proud of our products, our team and our growth. I’d like to see this national win for all of the people involved in the Grandma’s Gourmet story,” Olson said.
