Winners of the 2017 eHealthcare Leadership Awards were recently announced at the Healthcare Internet Conference in Austin, Texas, and mayoclinichealthsystem.org twice received the highest level of recognition possible, according to a press release.

The website received Platinum awards for Best Overall Internet Site and Best Healthcare Content in the Healthcare System class. The site also received a Gold award for Best Doctor Directory, a category where there were no Platinum award winners. This is the first time Mayo Clinic Health System has received Platinum eHealthcare Leadership Award recognition.

The eHealthcare Leadership Awards recognize outstanding health care websites and digital communications targeted toward consumers and health care professionals. Judges looked at how websites and other digital communications compared with peers in their organization’s classification. They also reviewed entries based on a proprietary multi-point standard of internet excellence. In the Best Overall Internet Site category, for example, judges had to address more than 40 factors.

“We’re honored to receive these awards. They’re a testament to the content-creation talent and patient-centered focus throughout Mayo Clinic Health System,” said Jeremy Jensen, Mayo Clinic Health System web team lead. “As the web plays an ever-increasing role in health care communication, it’s encouraging to know we’re successful in supporting the patient’s online journey.”
