Salvation Army’s Thanksgiving dinner catered for community

The Albert Lea Salvation Army continued its Thanksgiving tradition Wednesday with a meal catered to the entire community.

The event was meant to “invite the community to join together as a family and give thanks for all that has been given to us,” Maj. Sandy Hunt said.

The event was in the Fairlane building at the Freeborn County Fairgrounds. Boy Scouts as well as other volunteers helped serve meals and clean up.

“Many financial contributors and volunteers have made this event for our community possible,” Hunt said. “We could not do this without the community’s support.”

The Salvation Army is always looking for volunteers, especially heading into bell-ringing season. Anyone interested in volunteering can contact the Salvation Army for more details.
