The Albert Lea boys’ hockey team entered Thursday night’s game against Owatonna in hopes of keeping its unblemished record alive.

The Tigers were unable to keep their winning momentum behind them as they fell to the Huskies, 5-1.

The Tigers would take the lead early with an even-strength goal from junior Cole Wentzel, six minutes into the game. The goal was assisted by seniors Bergan Lundak and Michael Savelkoul. The Huskies would take the lead back, however, just before the period ended.

After a scoreless second period, the Huskies added to their lead with a power-play goal three minutes into the final period.

The Tigers would pull their goalie, but it would be to no avail; as the Huskies would go on to score two more goals on the empty net.

Albert Lea drops to 2-1 on the season and will play again Tuesday when it takes on Rochester Mayo at home.
