Three rock bands made famous in the 1980s and early ’90s will perform at the Grandstand during the Freeborn County Fair in 2018.
The fair board announced this week that Dokken, Warrant and Winger will be the entertainers Aug. 3.
Dokken, known for charting singles such as “Alone Again,” “In My Dreams” and “Burning Like a Flame,” has sold more than 10 million albums worldwide.
Warrant, a glam metal band formed in Los Angeles, is known for its debut album “Dirty Rotten Filthy Stinking Rich” and singles “Cherry Pie,” “Heaven” and “Uncle Tom’s Cabin.”
Winger, on top of the music charts in the early 1990s, is known for singles “Headed for Heartbreak,” “Miles Away” and “Seventeen.”
Freeborn County Fair Manager Mike Woitas said he and other fair board members had heard many people asking for other entertainers beyond the country genre. They looked for a rock band and came across the three bands who have toured around together.
“We’re anticipating a big crowd on Friday night with them,” he said.
Tickets will go on sale at 10 a.m. Thursday at midwestix.com.
He said at least one other Grandstand entertainer is expected to be announced later this week.
The Freeborn County Fair is slated for July 31 through Aug. 5.
