Music students perform Christmas recital

Elise Grzybowski played two impressionistic-style piano pieces at the Christmas recital on Sunday at First Lutheran Church. Grzybowski also played the first movement of Medelssohn’s Em Violin Concerto and a violin arrangement of “Once in Royal David’s City.”
Other performers included Katie Funk, Emma Barclay, Anna Dahl, Charles Stephens, Michael Blong, Alex Funk, Hannah Barclay and Kaylan Train.
Katie Funk played a Mozart Sonata “Andante” and sang “Pie Jesu.” Emma Barclay played an original Foure piece on her cello. Dahl sang Bach, John Jacob Niles and played a piano arrangement of “We Thee Kings.” Stephens sang, “Mary, Did You Know?” and Blong sang, “A Caroling We Go.” Alex Funk played a Christmas Medley from memory and a holiday violin arrangement. Hannah Barclay performed a viola arrangement of “Silent Night.” First-grader Train played all her violin and piano pieces from memory a reception followed.
