Beverly Olson, 1933-2018

Beverly Jean Olson, 84, of Austin, formerly of the Oakland area, died Sunday, Feb. 4, 2018, at Comforcare Good Samaritan Center.
She was born Nov. 30, 1933, in Albert Lea to Oscar and Alice Marie (Johnson) Olson. Beverly attended District 92 country school and helped on the family farm until she moved into Austin with her parents. Beverly was a lifelong member of Oakland Lutheran Church. In later years, she lived at both Sacred Heart Care Center and most recently at Comforcare. Bev was active in the resident activities at Sacred Heart and Comforcare, and especially enjoyed playing cards and bingo. She loved having her family and friends visit her. Beverly will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her.
Survivors include her brother, Allen (JoAnn) Olson of Austin; sisters Darlene Anderson of Clarks Grove and Karen Kamenir of Mesa, Arizona; nieces and nephews Rich (Maria) Olson, Mark (Sherry) Anderson, Jodi Anderson, Joshua (Erika) Oldenkamp and Jobb (Lisa) Oldenkamp; nine great-nieces and nephews and two great-great nieces; several cousins and numerous friends. Beverly was preceded in death by her parents Oscar and Alice Olson; brothers-in-law Donald Anderson and Abram Kamenir; and niece, Kim Anderson.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Monday at Oakland Lutheran Church. The Rev. Waldemar Gies will officiate. Visitation will take place from 4 to 7 p.m. Sunday at Worlein Funeral Home in Austin and one hour prior to the service at the church on Monday. Interment will be in Oakland Lutheran Cemetery.
