Hollandale Christian School hosts formal day

- Seventh- and eighth-grade staff and students at Hollandale Christian School recently took part in a formal day. Those partaking in the event were, front row, Emma Stubkjaer, Abigail Thoreson, Marlea Emberson, Gabby Ladlie, Kendra Smeby and Lydia Baron; second row, Dakota Mueller, Hunter Bauer, Ezra Eggum, Jack Olson, Lucas Brooks and Chloe McCarthy; and third row, Principal Enno Haan, Ben Kuiters, Hunter Muilenburg, Jon De Haan, Cole Jerdee, Andrew Clausman and teacher Sara Brouwer. -

Evie and Arlie Olson prepared a meal for formal day, starting with a fresh green salad. The main course included breaded chicken, fresh green beans and mashed potatoes. Students were taught proper etiquette and given tips on understanding what they may encounter at a formal restaurant. – Provided
The dessert for formal day was crepes that had fresh whipping cream, cream cheese and powdered sugar topped with fresh fruit and chocolate sauce with a chocolate-covered strawberry as a garnish. – Provided
