Students visit with police officer

- The past couple weeks, Taylor Moynagh’s second-grade EL students at Hawthorne Elementary School spent time reading and learning about police officers and their importance in the community. At the end of the unit, each student wrote a letter to Sgt. Tim Harves of the Albert Lea Police Department. On March 29, he made a surprise visit to the school to pick up his letters and to meet the students. The students were very excited and cannot wait to get their response letters back from Harves, according to a press release. - Provided
