Last weekend’s inclement weather will not cost the Gopher Baseball team from playing in Minneapolis this week, as No. 25 Minnesota and Iowa will now begin their Big Ten series at Target Field on Friday and Saturday afternoon.
Game one, originally slated for 6:30 p.m. Friday, will shift to 4 p.m. in the home of the Minnesota Twins, while game two will remain at 2 p.m. Saturday, also at Target Field. Sunday’s game three is scheduled to see the series return to Siebert Field as planned at 1 p.m. The series finale will be broadcast on Big Ten Network.
Entry into the stadium will be allowed at Gate 29 on Target Field Plaza, and gates will open one hour before game time. University of Minnesota students will receive free admission with their valid Ucard while general fans can purchase tickets at the Target Field box office for $8. Season tickets and pre-purchased tickets for Friday and Saturday’s games will be honored at the gate. Seating at Target Field will be general admission for all ticket-holders.
Saturday’s scheduled “Bark at the Park” event will now take place May 6. Dogs will receive free admission, and the first 100 four-legged visitors to Siebert Field will receive a Gophers-themed bandana. Pre-purchased Love Your Melon ticket packages will be honored for Sunday’s series finale at Siebert Field. Fans who are unable to attend Sunday will receive their Love Your Melon hat through the mail at the address associated with their My Gopher Sports account.
