A source confirmed Monday that the bus involved in a fatal crash had been rented by a wedding party.

Penny Engelman, 31, died after her 2000 Chevy Cavalier hit a school bus traveling in the southbound lane on U.S. Highway 218 just south of state Highway 251 in Mower County, according to the Minnesota State Patrol. The bus was taking the wedding party from a reception in Blooming Prairie to a hotel in Austin.

The Rev. Heidi Heimgartner of First Lutheran Church in Blooming Prairie asked the congregation to pray for those involved in the crash. The bride is a Blooming Prairie native; it is unknown whether she was injured in the crash.
