Albert Lea basketball will host camp

The Albert Lea basketball team has announced the dates for its 2018 Future Tigers Basketball Camp, according to a press release. The camp will start May 30 and run through June 1 at Albert Lea High School, and is for boys entering second through eighth grades who are interested in playing basketball.

Boys entering second through fifth grade will practice from 10 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. each day, while boys entering sixth through eighth grade will practice from 1 to 4 p.m.

Cost of the camp is $20, which will cover the cost of a T-shirt at the conclusion of the camp. Registration forms can be picked up at Albert Lea High School, any of the elementary schools or printed off from the Albert Lea boys’ basketball Facebook page. Forms can be dropped off at the high school front office or brought on the first day of camp.

The camp will be coached by Albert Lea players and coaches, with the intent to teach the fundamentals of basketball and teach skills that can be practiced throughout the summer, focusing on shooting, ball handling, defensive skills, agility and quickness.
