An Albert Lea man who possessed four folding knives in November 2016 in the Freeborn County courthouse was placed on probation for up to five years Thursday in Freeborn County District Court.
Seth Galen Kilian-Bock, 22, was sentenced to 105 days in jail and was given credit for 105 days served.
Judge Steven Schwab ordered Kilian-Bock to not possess knives, firearms, ammunition or explosives; complete a chemical assessment; complete a mental health evaluation; and follow other requirements while on probation.
Court documents state Kilian-Bock was charged after a sheriff’s deputy was working court security Nov. 28, 2016, when he observed Kilian-Bock with items that appeared to be folding knives. The deputy reportedly approached him and observed two folding knives hooked onto his pockets by clips. Kilian-Bock was described as allowing the knives to be slightly outside of the pocket and easily accessible.
Court documents state Kilian-Bock followed orders and turned over four folding knives to the deputy. Weapons are banned in the courthouse.
In another file, Kilian-Bock was given credit for time served for third-degree criminal damage to property. In that file, he was also charged with gross misdemeanor stalking, but that charge was dismissed.
