An Albert Lea man is facing charges after reportedly leading officers on a 23-mile vehicle chase that reached 120 mph and ended in Lake Mills Tuesday afternoon.

Michael Anthony Livingston, 31, has been charged with fleeing a peace officer in a motor vehicle in Freeborn County. Livingston reportedly faces charges of felony eluding and operating under the influence of a controlled substance in Winnebago County.

An Albert Lea officer was reportedly on patrol at about 3:30 p.m. Tuesday in the area of 11th Street and Viking Avenue when he recognized a vehicle from a domestic incident earlier in the day with Livingston inside. At the time, a probable cause arrest had been issued for him for felony domestic assault.

Livingston allegedly fled at a high rate of speed after an officer attempted to initiate a traffic stop on the vehicle in the area of Margaretha Avenue and 14th Street. The pursuit continued through southern Freeborn County and into Iowa, the release states.

The pursuit reportedly continued through Lake Mills, where Livingston crashed into a field and fled on foot. He was pursued and arrested a short distance away, the release states.

In a separate file in Freeborn County, Livingston is charged with domestic assault by strangulation and misdemeanor domestic assault.

As of Wednesday morning, Livingston was in custody at Winnebago County Jail.
