Letter: Support George Marin for mayor

Published 10:05 pm Tuesday, July 3, 2018

I am proudly voting for George Marin for Albert Lea mayor in the Aug. 14 primary election. We know the passion and dedication that has been a hallmark of his professional life. Pastor Marin has spent over 25 years giving to the community as a minister, advocate and crusader for the good people in Albert Lea, Freeborn County and beyond.

He is able to bring people together, sees things from all sides, encourages good to all, gives hope and treats everyone with dignity and respect. Mr. Marin proved himself as highly qualified and capable of running this city when he served on the City Council from 2000 though 2008 and again from 2013 through 2016. He understands the real problems that everyday folks face in everyday life largely because of his roles in the community as co-founder and pastor of Grace Christian Church, his outreach work with youth, working with those who face recovery at Fountain Centers, jail ministry at the Freeborn County jail and a homeless ministry that he conducts each November. He represents Albert Lea with distinction, often taking on projects and completing tasks behind the scenes without any fanfare or notoriety.

I don’t know about you, but I want a mayor who cares about me. About you. About our children. About their education. About our health care. About our jobs. About honesty. About integrity. Who will fight for you and Albert Lea. Every. Step. Of. The. Way. That’s why I’m voting for George Marin and encourage you to do also. This election is, in my opinion, the most important election in my lifetime, so please vote at the:
