Letter: Wind farm tax money could have filled funding gap

It is interesting to see a call for all city residents to pay more in taxes so we can pave two miles of little-used county road. We already pay extra wheelage taxes to fix county roads. The county board didn’t want wind farm property tax money that would have helped fill the funding gap but now want more money from city residents to fill the gap. Will the townships in the northwest part of the county that have wind turbines be exempt from tax increases since they already contribute more money to the county tax base by allowing wind farms?
