The male driver of the boat reportedly said he did not see the jet ski before they collided, causing the two girls to be ejected into the water, according to the press release. They were reportedly picked up by a passerby and brought to shore before they were taken to Mayo Clinic Health System in Albert Lea by Gold Cross Ambulance.

No occupants of the boat were injured, according to the Sheriff’s Office.
The jet ski reportedly sustained minor damage, and moderate damage was sustained to the boat. The jet ski and boat were towed.

Alcohol is not believed to be a factor in the crash, according to the Sheriff’s Office.

Albert Lea police and fire departments assisted on scene. The investigation into the crash is ongoing.
