Come to Wedgewood Park Friday evening to enjoy some slip ‘n’ slide water fun. The event will start at 4:30 p.m. and will last until 7 p.m. There will be a slip ‘n’ slide to enjoy with family and friends. Remember to bring your swimsuit and towel so you can take part in the fun.

 

2. Party in the Park

Party in the Park will be at Memorial Park Saturday evening. The event will have many family-friendly activities, along with free food. Some activities include a bouncy house and a variety of games. The activities will start at 4 p.m. and last until 7 p.m. Bring the family to enjoy a fun night in the park with the community.

 

3. Bobby Vee and Brenda Lee Tribute

Marion Ross Performing Arts Center will host a tribute to the music of Bobby Vee and Brenda Lee from 7:30 to 9 p.m. Friday. Brenda Lee and Bobby Vee had numerous hits, such as “I’m Sorry” and “Take Good Care of My Baby.” The concert is titled “A Winter Dance Party with Bobby Vee and Brenda Lee.” The concert is led by Joe Covert and The Night the Music Lived, a tribute band from Minnesota. If you enjoy Bobby Vee and Brenda Lee, or any music from the ’50s and ’60s, come out and enjoy a night filled with good tunes at Marion Ross Performing Arts Center.

 

4. New Richland circus

The Culpepper and  Merriweather Circus is coming to New Richland on Sunday. There will be two separate shows at 2 p.m. and 4:30 p.m. The circus tent will be in the lot behind NRHEG High School. You can purchase tickets online or at the event on Sunday. On circus day, tickets can be purchased at the box office and will be $13 for adults and $8 for children ages 2 to 12 and seniors 65 and up. There will be no charge for children under the age of 2. The family-friendly show features big cats, unicyclists, dogs, trapeze, the Wheel of Destiny, high wire, contortion and much more. Don’t miss out on the action; enjoy a show under the big top tent with the community.

 

5. Hall of Fame

The 2018 Tigers Athletic Hall of Fame banquet will be Friday evening at Wedgewood Cove. The event will start at 5:30 p.m. with social hour. Dinner and inductions will follow social hour, starting at 6:30 p.m. The purpose of the Hall of Fame is to acknowledge athletes, coaches and state champion teams who have made a historical contribution to the Albert Lea athletic program. On Saturday there will be a four-person best shot golf event starting at 10 a.m. at Wedgewood Cove. Dinner and golf forms are available at Tiger City Sports, Motor Inn Co., Security Insurance Agency and the Albert Lea Convention and Visitors Bureau.
