Here are highlights in history for May 25, gleaned from the files of the Albert Lea Tribune:

1987 — Terry Moriarty, principal of Southwest Junior High School, was the main speaker for the Memorial Day observance at Graceland Cemetery.

1977 — Robert Myers, vocal director at Albert Lea High School for 30 years, would be retiring at the end of the school year.

1967 — Finn Nannestad was the 21st person to be awarded the International Lions Club Key. He was honored for recruiting more than 200 new members though the years.
