Mayo Clinic Health System welcomes new staff members at Austin and Albert Lea locations

Mayo Clinic Health System in Albert Lea and Austin announced several new physicians have been added to its team, including radiologists Adam Cole, Theodore Hanson and Don Stott.
Cole received his medical degree at Creighton University School of Medicine in Omaha, Nebraska, and recently completed his residency and fellowship at University of Nebraska Medical Center in Omaha.
Hanson received his medical degree at the University of Minnesota in Minneapolis and completed his residency at Mayo Clinic School of Medicine in Rochester.
Stott received his medical degree and completed his residency at the University of Minnesota in Minneapolis.
All three radiologists started in July.
Mayo Clinic Health System also welcomed Dr. Dhauna Karam to the Internal Medicine team on the Albert Lea campus. Karam received her medical degree at Government Rajaji Hospital and Madurai Medical College in Madurai, Tamil Nadu, India; and completed her residency at Chicago Medical School, Rosalind Franklin University of Medicine and Science in North Chicago. Karam started seeing patients July 2.
On the Austin campus, Chad Dowell, D.O., joined the family medicine team, also in July. He received his medical degree and residency at Mayo Clinic Graduate School of Medicine in Rochester. Also joining the physician team on the Austin campus in July was psychiatrist Dr. Caren Blacker. Blacker received her medical degree at Oxford University in Oxford, England, and recently completed her residency in psychiatry and fellowship in child and adolescent psychiatry at Mayo Clinic School of Medicine in Rochester. Blacker is board-certified by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology and has special interests in treating bipolar disorder and post-traumatic stress disorder.
Dr. Derick Jones joined Mayo Clinic Health System on both the Albert Lea and Austin campuses in July. He is assigned to the emergency medicine department. Jones received his medical degree at Geisel School of Medicine at Dartmouth in Hanover, New Hampshire, and completed his residency at Mayo Clinic Graduate School of Medicine in Rochester.
