Anna Wescott’s fifth-graders at Halverson Elementary School have been working hard to build strong relationships within their classroom community. Student highlights from the year so far are having over half of the class involved in a leadership position, such as safety patrol or bus train leaders; working on choosing the right books and building reading stamina, as well as being able to read independently without interruption for a little over 30 minutes; learning how to care for the class pet, Squirt; and learning new number talk strategies and how able to apply them. - Provided
