Lois Jean Beyer, 86, of Albert Lea, formerly of Wells, died Wednesday, Oct. 3, 2018, at Prairie Senior Cottages in Albert Lea. A funeral service will be at 4 p.m. Saturday at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in Wells. The Rev. Mary Iverson will officiate. Visitation will be from 2 to 4 p.m. Saturday prior to services at the church. Interment will be at Rosehill Cemetery in Wells. Bruss-Heitner Funeral Home in Wells is assisting the family. Lois was born Sept. 21, 1932, in Wells, the daughter of Henry and Hulda (Schnoor) Virgin. She was united in marriage Nov. 9, 1950, to Eugene Beyer in Minnesota Lake.
Lois graduated from Wells High School on June 2, 1950. She worked at Del Monte, Banquet Foods, OK Hardware, Kurgan’s Meat Market and Parkview Care Center.
Lois is preceded in death by her husband, Eugene; sisters Bernadine Virgin and Shirley (Neal) Sims; brother, Bruce Virgin; and brothers-in-law Marlin Beyer and Donald Miller.
She is survived by her four children, Pam (George) Gross of Phoenix, Mary Beyer of Fort Collins, Colorado, Lynn (Dale) Groskreutz of New Richland and Tim (Linda) Beyer of Albert Lea; eight grandchildren, Jeff (Cheryl) Niebuhr, Paul Niebuhr, Meredith Harbison, Micah (Cayenne) Schmidt, Matt Groskreutz, Megan Groskreutz, Beth (Ron) Bakkedahl and Jenny (Greg) Ladwig; 11 great-grandchildren, Owen, Everly, Abbie, Chandler, Keilee, Taston, Courtney, Dylan, Logan, Lindsey and Sofie; sisters-in-law Kathleen Virgin of Inver Grove Heights, Kay Beyer of Minnesota Lake, Arbutus Miller of Wells and Ardean Douma of Mankato; and many nieces, nephews and their families.
