1. One night, two legends

The DC Drifters return for a Buddy Holly tribute, but this time, they’ve added another star to the set list: Elvis Presley. The tribute runs from 7:30 to 9 p.m. Saturday at the Albert Lea American Legion. Tickets are $20 at the door.

2. Al Batt cruise on the Pelican Breeze

Looking for another opportunity to enjoy the lake while it’s still in a liquid state? The Pelican Breeze and Al Batt invite community members on board to enjoy the beauty of fall from the boat. The cruise takes off at 4 p.m.  Sunday from Frank Hall Park. Tickets are $10.

3. Albert Lea Fire Department open house

National Fire Prevention Week may be winding down, but it will go out with a party at the Albert Lea Fire Department. The department is hosting its annual open house from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday. Firefighters will demonstrate their response times, bail-out equipment and a victim rescue situation. Additionally, the fire department is celebrating 100 years since the purchase of its first engine, starting conversations about how firefighting equipment has changed over time. There will also be cookies and refreshments and a chance to meet the firefighters and see fire trucks up close.

4. Albert Lea Art Center exhibit open house

The Art Center is celebrating its first exhibit at its new building with an open house from 1 to 3 p.m. Sunday. The show, “Creating Community,” features pieces from an art group comprised of Select Foods employees. Those who attend the open house can also meet the artists.

5. Barbecue and zoo at the pumpkin patch

Stables Sweetcorn & Pumpkin Patch of Albert Lea is promising a three-in-one visit to the patch Sunday as it hosts a petting zoo, barbecue and, of course, pumpkin picking. Albert Lea-based Smokin’ Barrel Barbecue will provide the barbecue. The event runs from noon to 5 p.m. Sunday at the patch, with the petting zoo between 2 and 4 p.m.
