Letter: City must be proactive in improving Albert Lea

Hello again, citizens of Albert Lea.
As we head into Election Day, I want to leave you with a few thoughts. The primary reason I am running for City Council is to help inject a proactive approach to improving our community. We cannot simply wait and hope for positive change to happen. We have to actively reach out to make it happen. Another part of being proactive is to work efficiently and in a timely manner. There are good things happening in Albert Lea, but we need to ensure that positive change in terms of growth and current projects not only benefits future citizens in our community, but that our current citizens can and will also be able to benefit from our efforts.
I hope to earn your vote, and I am committed to working as hard as I can to do everything I can to make Ward 6 and Albert Lea a better place to work and live. I pride myself on being out in the community, talking with neighbors and listening to your concerns, so we can work together to resolve community issues and spark growth and prosperity. To achieve that, sometimes change is necessary. If I did not feel I was up to the challenge, I would not be running. It’s time for something new. It’s time for something different. It’s time for something better in Ward 6 and for our city. I believe that time is now. It’s time to vote for Nick Ronnenberg.
Remember, don’t forget to vote. Voting is one of our primary rights as American citizens, and I encourage each of you to take just a few minutes to go vote. Polls are open early and late.
Nick Ronnenberg
