People unable to attend the AARP/Blue Zones Vitality Project Launch at Albert Lea High School last week will be able to view it on the Albert Lea Government Access Channel, Charter Communications Channel 16, in the city of Albert Lea. The program will air Monday, Wednesday and Friday at 10 a.m. and Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday at 8 p.m.
Nearly 1,300 people attended the launch Thursday evening to hear Dan Buettner, Brian Wansink and leaders from AARP, United Health Foundation and the community explain the public phase of the Vitality Project.
People are encouraged to take time to fill out the pledge and take the Vitality Compass at http://www.aarp.org/bluezonesproject. People who have already taken the compass at www.bluezones.com are asked to retake it at the AARP site. The goal is to have 5,000 people who live or work in Albert Lea take the pledge and compass, participate in programs and add two extra years to their lives.
