Alice Moon

Alice Ann Moon (nee Schoening) of Kiester died Thursday, Oct. 25, 2018, in hospice care at Parkview Care Center in Wells.
Alice was born and raised in Lakefield and lived for many years in Albert Lea.
Alice was a homemaker who was involved in her children’s schools and Ascension Lutheran Church.
After she raised her family, she worked as a receptionist for H&R Block for 20 years. Along with her husband, Jack, as Santa, she was Mrs. Claus for over 30 years, bringing Christmas joy and happiness to children of all ages. She enjoyed volunteering at Lime Creek Church through Our Saviors Lutheran Church of Kiester. She was an assistant librarian at Kiester Public Library. Among her hobbies, Alice was a talented rosemaler; she loved camping, long rides in the country and attending community events and parades.
She is survived by her husband of 63 years, Jack Moon; son, Dolf (Patti) Moon; daughter Amy (Mark) Charlesworth; and daughter-in-law. Connie Caron Moon. She was proud Granny to nine grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her son, Glen Moon; and granddaughter, Bailey Moon.
A memorial service will be at 1 p.m. Dec. 2 at Our Saviors Lutheran Church, 605 W. State St. in Kiester.
