Public works to host open house in Albert Lea

Open house Freeborn County and the city of Albert Lea are proposing to reconstruct Bridge Avenue between Marshall Street and Hammer Road, according to a press release.
Construction is tentatively scheduled to begin in 2020. In addition to reconstructing the roadway, the project will include improvements to the underground utility system, including water and sewer, and sidewalks along the corridor.
County and city staff, along with the consultant engineering team, are currently developing the preliminary design of the road and utility improvements, the press release states. Initial concept drawings will be presented at a public open house from 5 to 7 p.m. Tuesday at Albert Lea City Hall, 221 E. Clark St.
Representatives from Freeborn County Public Works, the city of Albert Lea, and design consultant SRF will be available to discuss the initial preliminary design options and answer questions about the project. This will be an open house setting without a formal presentation.
The purpose of the open house is to share information and encourage public comments.
