Ronald Remakel, 1942-2018

Memorial services for Ronald “Ron” Remakel of Albert Lea will be at 11 a.m. Friday at St. Theodore Catholic Church. The Rev. Kurt Farrell and Deacon Mike Ellis will officiate. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Thursday at Bonnerup Funeral Service and one hour prior to the service at the church. Interment will be in St. Theodore Cemetery.
Ron died Monday, Dec. 17, 2018, at his home in Albert Lea. He was 76.
Ron was born Aug. 8, 1942, in Albert Lea, the son of Marshall and Rose (Adams) Remakel. He attended public school and Austin Vocational School for welding. On May 27, 1961, he was united in marriage to Marilyn Ferring at St. Theodore Catholic Church.
Ron had been employed for over 24 years with Wilson & Co./Farmstead. He also worked for several years with Southern Minnesota Oil, Sorenson Brothers and 10 years for Waste Management. After his retirement he drove truck for Krueger’s Excavating.
Ron is survived by his wife, Marilyn, of Albert Lea; children Mike (Laurie) Remakel of Albert Lea and their children Colton Remakel and Sammy Remakel, and Marcie (Todd) Anderson of Albert Lea and their children Nikki (Mike) Olsen, Ashley (Brady) Engelby and Ty (fiancee, Lilia Almazan) Anderson; great-grandchildren Logan and Ledger Olsen, McKinlee Engelby and Dominic and Jaxon Anderson; and sisters Delores Modderman and Arlis Dokken, both of Alexandria.
He was preceded in death by his daughter, Jodi Wangsness; parents Marshall “Mike” and Rose Remakel; father- and mother-in-law Clete and Grace Ferring; and brother-in-laws Jim Dokken and Duck Modderman.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to the family, American Cancer Society or St. Croix Hospice.
