Albert Lea Area Schools has announced its early childhood screening dates. Screenings will take place at Brookside Education Center, 211 W. Richway Drive.

Screenings will take place the following dates:

• 1 to 6 p.m. Jan. 3

• 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Feb. 7

• 1 to 6 p.m. Feb. 21

• 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. March 7

• 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. April 29

• 1 to 6 p.m. May 2

The state of Minnesota requires a developmental screening of all 3- to 5-year-old children prior to starting kindergarten. Screenings are free.
