An Albert Lea Area Schools bus was struck by a BB Wednesday afternoon while carrying children from school.
“A bus transporting Albert Lea Area School District students from Lakeview Elementary to Southwest Middle School had a window cracked form a small single BB that hit the bus,” the school stated on a Facebook post. “Fortunately, no one was injured.”
Albert Lea Superintendent Mike Funk said Friday afternoon there were no leads in the case. There were 37 elementary school students on the bus at the time of the incident, he said, adding it could have come from a BB gun or a projectile.
“The safety of our students is our top priority,” the district said in a Facebook post. “We ask that if anyone has information about why may have done this, to please contact either the Albert Lea Area Schools District Office or the Albert Lea Police Department.”
