1. “The Magic Flute”

The Met: Live in HD will have an encore presentation of Mozart’s “The Magic Flute” on Saturday at Marion Ross Performing Arts Center.

The production has enchanted opera lovers around the world with whimsical humor and breathtaking puppetry. It tells the story of young people following their journey through “danger, fantasy and wildness,” according to a news release.

2. Ice skating

The arena is open for skaters from 1 to 3 p.m. Friday and from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Sunday.

Cost Friday is $4, including skate rental. On Sunday cost is $4 plus $1 for skate rental.

3. Free movie

Want to get the children out of the house but don’t want to spend a lot of money to entertain?

Wells Flame Theatre in downtown Wells is offering free matinees during Christmas break.

The theater will show “Arthur Christmas” on Thursday and “Despicable Me 3” on Friday.

Matinee showings are at 2 p.m.

4. Festival of Trees

Christmas may have passed, but it’s not too late to check out “The Festival of Trees: Christmas on Broadway” exhibit at The Albert Lea Art Center for its final weekend.

The exhibit will be open from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Friday and from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday.

5. Cabin fever children’s yoga

Help the children use some of their energy during a children’s yoga class Friday afternoon at The Meraki Studios. The class will cultivate kindness and mindfulness.

Bring a mat to use. A take-home activity will be included.

Register ahead of time at www.themerakistudios.com/yoga. Cost is $7 per individual or $10 for two siblings.
