Letter: Trump has done much for country in half of 1st term

Almost halfway through Donald Trump’s first term as president of the United States, America is better off now than we were under eight years of Barack Obama. While Donald Trump has been president, we have seen incredible tax cuts for the middle class, a booming economy and stock market, some of the lowest unemployment numbers in U.S. history, as well as the recent passing of the farm bill and criminal justice reform. People say that Trump is unpopular, but the recent midterm election results proved the exact opposite! Yes, Democrats won control of the House, but it could’ve been better for them. Even liberal media Democrats like ABC’s George Stephanopoulos and CNN’s Van Jones admitted on election night that it was a disappointing night for Democrats, and they could have had better results. It wasn’t a wave election for Democrats. A wave is when you gain 63 seats while only losing one seat (like the Republicans did in 2010). Gaining 40 seats while losing three in 2018 (one of which was ours) is not a wave election. Not to mention that Republicans not only retained the Senate, but gained two seats as well. President Trump is making America great again!
