2 area residents injured in different crashes

Two area residents were injured Friday in separate crashes in Albert Lea.
In the first crash, at 11:12 a.m., a 1995 GMC Sonoma was reportedly driving on the ramp from southbound Interstate 35 to westbound Interstate 90 when it lost control on a snowy and icy portion of the roadway, went off the road and came to rest in the north drainage ditch.
Madison Mari Martinez-Reyerson, 17, of Emmons was taken by ambulance to Mayo Clinic Health System in Albert Lea for an injury deemed not life-threatening, according to the Minnesota State Patrol.
The driver of the truck, Andrew Allen Bakke, 18, of Albert Lea was not injured.
In the second crash, an Albert Lea woman was injured when two vehicles collided at the intersection of U.S. Highway 65 and Blake Avenue.
Lisa Jo Wenzel, 56, was taken to Mayo Clinic Health System in Albert Lea for an injury deemed not life-threatening, according to the State Patrol report.
Wenzel was a passenger in a 2019 Chevy Colorado driven by Jock Vern Wenzel, 55, of Albert Lea.
The Colorado was reportedly traveling southbound on Highway 65 and collided with a 2015 Chrysler 200 traveling northbound that was driven by Anthony Michael Schallau, 46, of Mankato.
The roads were wet at the time of the crash, and alcohol was not a factor.
All occupants were wearing their seat belts, according to the State Patrol.
