Juvenile in custody after reported robbery

A juvenile was in custody after a robbery was reported at 6:18 p.m. Sunday at 902 Abbott St. Two males allegedly robbed someone at gunpoint. They were described as leaving in a red Honda, possibly an Accord or Civic. They were reported last seen heading east on Abbott. The alleged victim was robbed of money and other items.

Albert Lea Deputy Director of Police Darren Hanson said Monday morning police had not confirmed that a gun was used in the robbery and are aware of the second suspect.

He said the suspects knew the alleged victim.

 

2 arrested for DWI, warrants

Freeborn County Sheriff’s Office deputies arrested Lisa Carletta Skotte, 49, for driving while intoxicated (controlled substance), and warrants from Anoka and Hennepin counties during a traffic stop at 11:07 p.m. Friday at the intersection of Euclid Avenue and West Main Street.

Albert Lea police arrested Joel Rodriguez, 26, for fourth-degree DWI, third-degree test refusal and driving after suspension after two people were reported involved in a fight with unknown weapons at 5:21 a.m. Sunday at 906 W. Front St.

 

4 cited for violations

Police cited Jerry Jerome Jones, 18, for drug paraphernalia possession and possessing a small amount of marijuana during a traffic stop at 9:14 a.m. Friday at 2000 Tiger Lane.

Police cited a 13-year-old boy and a 14-year-old boy for motor vehicle tampering after a report of two boys in another person’s vehicle taking cash and cigarettes was filed at 12:39 a.m. Saturday at 715 Columbus Ave.

Police cited Keith Richard Rogge, 37, for loud music after a noise complaint/disturbance was filed at 8:27 p.m. Sunday at 121 1/2 N. Broadway Ave.

 

Fire reported

A fire possibly in an old farmhouse was reported at 7:09 a.m. Monday at 15401 862nd Ave. in the Glenville area. No one was reported in the area.

 

Thefts reported

Police arrested Clarissa Renee Richey, 32, for misdemeanor theft after a theft report was filed at 6:23 p.m. Sunday at Walmart, 1550 Blake Ave.

A scam was reported at 8:36 a.m. Friday at 601 Third Ave. in Freeborn. The alleged victim said he believed he had been scammed after paying $2,500 to Publishers Clearinghouse.

A counterfeit $100 bill was reported at 9:46 a.m. Friday at Raleigh’s Ace Hardware, 2525 Bridge Ave. The suspect was described as wearing a purple hat and a brown coat.

A bad check in the amount of $130.47 was reported at 1:31 p.m. Friday at DAE Liquor, 901 S. Broadway Ave.

Damage from an attempted break-in to a garage was reported at 12:12 p.m. Saturday at 112 N. Second Ave. A lock was reported pried from a small door. Damage was estimated at $30.

A men’s black Raleigh Tekoa bicycle with a larger seat and larger tires was reported stolen at 12:46 p.m. Sunday at 507 Alice Ave. The bike was valued at $800.

 

1 taken into custody for contempt of court

Grady Gage Studier, 18, was reported taken into custody in court for contempt of court per a judge at 9:22 a.m. Friday at 411 S. Broadway.

 

Disorderly conduct reported

An assault involving bodily fluids was reported at 12:36 p.m. Friday at Freeborn County jail, 411 S. Broadway.

A report of someone having a beer bottle thrown at her, striking her in the face, from a dirty white car while she walked from her residence to Frank Hall Park was filed at 10:41 a.m. Friday at 1115 James Ave.

A report of someone being assaulted by someone the person knew was filed at 3:47 p.m. Sunday in Albert Lea.

 

K9 unit deployments reported

A K9 deployment was reported for a search of a basement of a home at 8:02 p.m. Saturday in Albert Lea.

A K9 deployment was reported for a search of a house and a garage at 8:04 p.m. Saturday in Albert Lea.

 

Possible felon voting reported

Possible felon voting was reported at 9:12 a.m. and 9:14 a.m. Friday at 411 S. Broadway.

 

Child in need of protection reported

A child in need of protection was reported at 10:05 a.m. Friday.
