Wind chill advisory issued for Freeborn, Waseca and Steele counties

The National Weather Service has issued a wind chill advisory for Freeborn, Waseca and Steele counties.
Blowing snow with extremely cold wind chills are expected. According to the Weather Service, winds are expected to gust from 35 to 40 mph.
Wind chills as low as 35-below zero could cause frostbite on skin in 10 minutes, according to the Weather Service.
“Frostbite and hypothermia can occur if precautions are not taken,” the advisory states. “Make sure you wear a hat and gloves.”
The advisory is in effect until 9 a.m. Friday.

A blizzard warning issued Wednesday is no longer in effect.
