Did you know you have a story to tell?

As human beings, we love to hear stories about others who have gone through similar experiences, who have overcome tremendous feats, who have an unusual hobby or who are inspiring others in one fashion or another.

Though not every story is all sunshine and smiles, sometimes it is the challenges of life and the recognition that others face similar struggles that can be a help or inspiration to others.

Though we often wish to tell our stories when life is going well or we find successes, it can be equally as liberating and inspiring to others to share about life experiences when things aren’t perfect.

Whether you are well known in the community or you only know a handful of people here, everyone has a story to tell.

I was reminded of this last week as I attended the Minnesota Newspaper Association’s annual convention with journalists from all over the state. The convention features various classes to help us learn more about our trade and is highlighted with the annual MNA Better Newspaper Contest banquet.

Some of the classes I attended focused on using new technology in a digital age, finding joy in our work as journalists and building relationships with the community.

I walked away from the convention proud to be part of the journalism industry and motivated to find out what you, our readers, would like in your community newspaper.

Is there something you would like to see more coverage from or something you wish we’d do away with? What are your favorite parts of the paper? Where could the paper grow?

Let me know what you think.

I am only a steward of the paper at this moment in time, but ultimately the newspaper belongs to you, our community.

You can let me know your thoughts via email at sarah.stultz@albertleatribune.com, through mail at 808 W. Front St. or on the phone at 379-3433.

Or, as always, if you have a story to share, please let me know.
