Faulty wiring cause of attic fire

Faulty wiring reportedly caused a house fire Thursday night approximately 17 miles southeast of Glenville.
According to the Freeborn County Sheriff’s Office, the agency and London Fire Department responded at approximately 7:13 p.m. Thursday to 11758 890th Ave. for a house fire.
“Initial reports indicated flames were seen coming from the roof of the home,” the Sheriff’s Office stated. “The responding fire departments arrived and quickly extinguished the fire, which appeared to have started in the attic from faulty wiring.”
The structure of the home reportedly received smoke and water damage, and several areas in the attic received fire damage, the release states.
“All the occupants were able to exit the house, and no injuries were reported,” the release states.
Glenville, Myrtle, Hayward and Lyle fire departments assisted on scene.
Online property records list Jeff Allen Jr. and Julie Allen as the primary taxpayers of the address.
