Learn more about our cool winter songbirds with Larry Dolphin, Dick Smaby and other members of Austin Audubon at a bird banding event at 10 a.m. Feb. 16 at Ruby Rupner Auditorium at Jay C. Hormel Nature Center. 

According to a press release, participants will enjoy an up-close look at the birds as they humanely trap, study, band and release them. The event will take place in conjunction with the 22nd annual Great Backyard Bird Count, so participants will also spend some time observing and counting birds at the auditorium’s feeders.
