Garage destroyed Sunday morning in Albert Lea fire

A garage was destroyed Sunday morning in a fire in Albert Lea.
According to a press release, Albert Lea firefighters and police were dispatched at about 6 a.m. Sunday to 720 Minnesota Ave. for the fire.
“Upon arrival, heavy fire was found coming from a 1 1/2-stall, detached garage,” the release states. “The fire was contained to the garage, and no other structures on (the) property were damaged due to the fire. Power to the home was lost for a short time due to the line burning off but was restored by Freeborn-Mower Cooperative Services.”
Fire crews reportedly remained for about two hours extinguishing hot spots.
No injuries were reported.
Damage was estimated at $5,000.
“The cause and origin of the fire are undetermined due to the extensive damage of the garage,” the release states.
Online property records list Diane Kadrmas as the primary taxpayer of the address.
