1 arrested for DWI

Freeborn County Sheriff’s Office deputies arrested Melissa Ann Hudson, 38, for third-degree driving while intoxicated, having a .08 blood alcohol content or more within two hours, failure to dim lights and being over the center line during a traffic stop at 1:26 a.m. Friday at the intersection of South Broadway Avenue and West Ninth Street. 

 

Smoke reported

Smoke in a second-floor hall was reported at 7:41 p.m. Thursday at Shady Oaks Apartments, 800 S. Fourth Ave. The smoke was reportedly caused by burnt food.

 

Counterfeit money reported

A $10 counterfeit bill was reported at 10:21 a.m. Thursday at Farmers State Bank, 1452 W. Main St. The bill was expected to be sent to Secret Service by the bank. The deposit of the check reportedly occurred Wednesday.
